If you’re looking for some quick, easy and tasty biscuits to make with the kids why not try these oat biscuits?
75g demerara sugar
75g self raising flour
75g porridge oats
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon golden syrup
1 tablespoon milk
Preheat the oven to 170 deg C and line a baking tray with baking parchment or greaseproof paper.
Let the children weigh out the oats, flour, sugar and baking powder and mix them together in a large bowl.
Using a saucepan or a microwave melt the butter, milk and syrup.
Add the melted butter mixture to the dry ingredients and let the kids mix it all together.
Then they need to spoon out about 12 dollops of the sticky, gooey mixture onto the baking tray – making sure there’s some space between them as the biscuits will spread when they’re cooking.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 10 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Leave the biscuits to cool for 5 minutes on the tray before moving them – then eat and enjoy!
